Stonewall Wesley Jackson Reynolds Chesshir, or "Tim" as he prefers to be called, began to sketch 15 years ago as a way of passing time during breaks while working as a drummer in a jazz band.  He soon found his artwork to be more fulfilling than his music.

Working in several slaughter houses during a period of ten years, Chesshir taught himself to draw by studying animal anatomy, and by using pictures he found in library books as  a source of inspiration.

Initially, Tim Chesshir produced a series of highly realistic drawings of Audubon-like birds, other animals, and human faces.  In his efforts to combat bouts with severe depression, the artist sought greater personal satisfaction through the creation of original compositions.  Chesshir claims great spiritual inspiration when he draws, often working in a trance-like state.   His sophisticated abstract style has evolved to become highly graphic, incorporating a variety of symbols and hidden images.
